The origins
The story of the place
Before becoming the Camping Sous le Moulin, this family land was just a meadow passed down from generation to generation, in the heart of Saint-Maurice-de-Gourdans. For a long time, campers were already settling by the river, attracted by the tranquility of the Ain and its natural setting.
An old mill once stood on the banks, an element that still marks the identity of the site today.
In 1980, our grandparents, with the help of our father Jean-Noël, decided to create the campsite as we know it. They built and set up the first facilities themselves. This is how the story of camping Sous le Moulin began, giving life to a family campsite rooted in nature.
A human adventure
A family story
For us, the campsite is not just a place: it’s the home where we grew up. Since our father created this place, we have seen it evolve over the years, carried by his daily commitment and with the support of Mylène, who has been by his side for over twenty years.
When Élodie joined the team in 2023, a new chapter opened, guided by the same desire: to preserve the soul of the Camping Sous le Moulin and bring to life this place that has always been with us.

Familiar faces welcoming you with a smile
Mylène
For over twenty years, Mylène has been working at the campsite alongside her father. Present daily on the grounds, she carefully ensures the smooth running of campsite life, the comfort of the guests, and the balance of the place, in a spirit of simplicity and kindness.
Élodie
Élodie joined the family business in 2023. Involved in the management, organization, and development of the campsite, she actively participates in its evolution while remaining faithful to its founding values: a natural, quiet, friendly, and authentic setting.

Our vision
Our vision is simple: to preserve the identity of the Camping Sous le Moulin while adapting it to today’s expectations.
We want to preserve what makes the place charming: its family spirit, its natural setting, its simplicity, and the serenity it brings to those who stay here.
We wish to continue welcoming a varied clientele: tourists (passing travelers, families on vacation), professionals, or locals, in a welcoming, natural, and soothing place, faithful to the spirit of the Ain countryside.
